For the energetic - the challenge of walking or cycling on Exmoor itself attracts a fair number of visitors. Whatever the weather Exmoor produces some of the most breath taking sites imaginable and with the freedom of walking or cycling the choice of viewpoint is yours for the taking.
For the slightly less energetic there are many more structured walks - the well know”Tarka Trail” is suitable for people of all ages and levels of fitness, with cycles available for hire from a number of locations. The coast - Ilfracombe, Woolacombe, Combe Martin, Saunton, Woody Bay, etc. - all under 60 minutes driving. There are also boat and fishing trips available, particularly from Ilfracombe.
Towns, shopping and entertainments - Barnstaple, Bideford, Exeter, Taunton, Tiverton - again all under 60 minutes.
Places of interest (including National Trust Properties) - Arlington Course, Knightshayes, Dartington Crystal Glass (including tours of the factory), Quince Honey Farm, Rosemoor Gardens, Hartland Abbey.
